Whale Watching Tours
Since the outlaw of whaling in South Africa in 1979 the Southern Right Whale population has been increasing by an average of 11% per year. As if to celebrate this conservation success story hundreds of Southern Right Whales returns to the Cape shores every year from the end of July up to November to mate, give birth and nurture their young before the long voyage back to the feeding waters around Antarctica. The coastal town of Hermanus seems to be the focus point of the annual whale festivities and every year thousands of tourist congregate to witness and celebrate these gentle giants of the sea.
Join us in season on an exploratory voyage of discovery in search of the famous Southern Rights of the Cape coast. Witness these amazing creatures in courtship or nurturing their young and let their peaceful demeanour and gentle spirits enchant you into a pace of life regulated by the tides. On route to Hermanus we also travel trough the Sir Lowry's pass that serves as gateway to the garden route which in itself offers natural splendour and surprises around every corner. |
